Boudhanath: The holy destination of Lord Buddha

Boudhanath, being situated at about three and half miles in north-east periphery of Kathmandu, has been one of the most sacred destinations for the Hindus and Buddhists. It has an enormous mandala that turns it one of the biggest stupas in Nepal having a circular shape.
There are about fifty monasteries around the most antique stupas over the globe. It is also considered one of the prominent UNESCO world heritage destinations. It’s a place of mystic symbols. There are nine levels of Boudhanath Stupa signifying the legendary mount Meru, core of the universe, along the thirteen rings from the ground to the apex denote the way of illumination. Enlightening is primarily referred as Boudha in Buddhism, which makes the name of the stupa as Boudhanath.
From the base, the place is delimited by a crooked polygonal wall having a canvas done swiftly within the cores. Along the five Dhyani Buddhas, the place is intimately allied along the Bodhisattva and Avalokitehwara that’s having hundred eight deviations presented in the form of a great art around the pedestal zones. You can also find the chants ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’ being engraved over the entreaty wheels along the metaphors of Avalokiteshwara along the base of the region.

Its base is having three gigantic stations declining in terms of size. According to mythologists, these destinations signify the terrain. One can have a view on the rocks from here at the same time enjoying the chants of the pious, moving around the stupa and praying.

Specialty and Festivals:

The prime admittance to the higher station of Boudhanath stupa is from the north end. It is said that the ancestors of Buddha lived here. Covering the Boudhanath stupa, you can find the ways and slender zones wrinkled with beautiful homes, Buddhist and Tibetan monasteries, native retails, etc.
It is believed that the Boudhanath stupa was made just post the death of Lord Buddha and considered the biggest of its category in the world. A huge amount of gold was taken in to account for the paint of the sacred place.
The place witnesses a huge crowd during the festive occasions. Especially, during the Tibetan New Year, Losar that is observed during February-March witnesses a huge accumulation of the crowds.
